Have you ever wondered what happened to the five little ducks who went swimming one day, over the hill and far away? Or even how that Mummy duck felt when finally only one little duck came back? No. I haven’t either. Until now that is. I now know that two of those goddamn little ducks ended up in our garage.
J played football with Ronaldo and Messi last week. I know, quite amazing that two of the best footballers in the world were training, together, in deepest Somerset just before the start of the new season. What’s that? You don’t believe me? Oh. OK. I admit it, maybe the footballing legends weren’t actually there in person. Yes, alright, it was just a couple of kids (half the group) wearing replica shirts, but it did amuse me. As a parent, in fact as a human being, we get to wear a lot of different hats in our lives. I don’t mean actual hats of course but, oh crappit, the latest hat that I find myself wearing is one that I never, ever, in my wildest nightmares thought that I would ever, EVER wear.
I appear to have volunteered (yes I have brought it on myself people) to be the Chair of the school PTA. Shit (sorry but these desperate times demand the use of an expletive, apologies). Continue reading “Not a PTA Mum?”
When I was 7 I missed out on a trip to Bristol Zoo thanks to being very poorly and in hospital. I remember receiving a package of hand-drawn get well cards from my classmates featuring all the animals they had seen at the zoo. All very lovely but the salt was well and truly rubbed into the wound. I was totally gutted.
