My good friend leant me this book, Girl, Woman, Other, and I have just finished it.  This is a book which has been receiving a great deal of attention and I understand why, it is very well crafted and full of interesting, likeable characters offering an insight into female lives, feminism and cultural identity among other themes.

My only bug bear, and you may be able to help unravel this, there are no full stops or capital letters. Why is this? What is the meaning behind this lack of punctuation? Is it just to present a stream of consciousness? Is it to show that writer is edgy and modern? Is it to P-off those of us who still insist on writing in full (with capital letters and full stops) on twitter and text messages? After the first few pages it didn’t bother me (too) much, but does anyone know the answer?
